Every blogger has been there. You’ve just published your newest post and expected comments, likes and shares to roll in, but there is nothing. Perhaps if you log off and log back on again, that will help… Nope, still nothing.
We have all been there. Spending hours crafting a beautiful blog post, only when we publish it to get little or no response or feedback. It’s times like these that the web can feel like the loneliest place in the world.
If this has just happened to you, please don’t despair. You are not alone, it has happened to the best of us. You see, in most blog niches there are hundreds, if not thousands of blogs focused on the same topic. And so, for your blog to stand out from every other blogger just like you, your content needs to be exceptional. While having the most amazing content may not be a possibility – time and money are issues; there are other tactics you can try.
To help you boost your blog’s traffic, here are our three killer ideas:
- Share, share, share
Blogging experts have recently said that most bloggers just aren’t sharing their content enough. You see, most people will share a new post once and that’s it, but sadly, that isn’t enough.
Think of it like this, just because you have already shared your content, it doesn’t mean everyone has seen it. Perhaps a few of your followers weren’t on Twitter when you shared the link, and so, have no idea that you have a new blog post up.
Each new post you create should be shared multiple times online, and not just on one site, but on every site you have. For instance, as soon as you complete an article you might want to share it on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. Then the following day, you might want to share it on Twitter again. Maybe a couple of days later it’s time to share it on Google+ again, and a week after that, it’s time to share it on Facebook, again.
2. Use search engine optimization
One of the best ways to bring more traffic to your blog is by increasing it’s Google ranking, and the best way to do this is with SEO. While you can attempt to use SEO in your blog posts, it’s easier and less time consuming to hire a company to do it for you.
You might think that hiring a company to deal with your blog’s SEO needs would be expensive, but it doesn’t have to be. Many specialists offer pay on performance SEO, which means that unless you see results, you don’t pay.
3. Collaborate with influential bloggers
If you want to increase your traffic, the key is to get other bloggers to write guest posts for you. As the blogger’s audience visits your site to read their post, they will probably end up browsing and will look around your site. If they like what they see, they may end up following your blog.
Of course, reaching out to bloggers who are incredibly popular is tricky, as they are often busy. Even so, it’s still worth a try. By getting influential bloggers involved, you will gain some amazing content.
When you spend a long time working on a post and get very little recognition for it, it can be disheartening. However, it’s important not to let it get you down. Instead, focus on boosting your blog’s traffic and increasing your followers.
